So the ISI (Pakistani Intelligence) knew bin Laden was in the compound. They were actually guarding him there. But when you have someone the USA wants, you gotta get a good trade for it. There were backchannel pentagon payoffs of course. Finally Pakistan agreed to hand him over.
Official White House story says Pakistan had no idea or foreknowledge of the raid (lol).
The plan was to raid and kill him and then a week later say that they had killed him in a drone strike in the Hindu Kush mountains. However, the helicopter crashed and rumors started going viral that night. (Pakistan also killed the power at the compound and removed all the guards prior to the raid - and assured USA that their helicopter would not be intercepted en route).
Special Forces met no resistance in the house. They lit up bin Laden's body with bullets and threw body parts out of the rescue helicopter on the way back home. This wouldn't have been a problem if Obama stuck to the plan and waited a week to announce the killing. But Obama spoke that night so everyone wanted to see a body. They came up with the burial at sea phony story so they wouldn't have to produce a body.
There is more and it's juicy but you'll have to take my word for it.
The government lied to us? No way, they would never embellish something like this to score political points.
