"Why Nations fail?" Acemoglu-Robinson

Ah yes thank you! That’s a definite.

already read it?

Nope but glad you recommended it as I bought it earlier in the day.

I hooe you like it!

Some of my recent favorites by subject:

Personal Finance - The Psychology of Money, Morgan Housel

Politics - Tribalism is Dumb, Andrew Heaton

Novelized Non-Fiction - Bringing Down the House, Ben Mezrich

Biography - Ghost Rider, Neil Peart

Read the Housel one. Thank you so much for the others!

I hope you like them! If you’ve also read The Richest Man in Babylon and The Simple Path to Wealth then there’s basically no other personal finance reading that’s truly required in my opinion.

Another vote for Morgen Housel.

🧡🍻👊🏻

Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences

- Howard Gardner

A Brief History of Central Banking

- Dominic Haynes

The Next 100 Years

- George Friedman

Martian Time-Slip

-Philip K. Dick

Amazing thank you

Phillip k dick might be my favorite author. Read everything he’s written. 🧡🍻👊🏻

You're a most patient reader and charitable person. The man had the greatest ideas and creativity, but he wrote horribly.

I actually totally agree his style is awkward and odd at times. I was a lot younger so maybe that helped but his ideas are so “out there”. His character struggles with mental health and addiction also struck home with me.

A Scanner Darkly, Confessions of a Crap Artist and (my marginal favourite) Puttering About in a Small Land.

Most of his novellas are a quick read.

Martian Time-Slip is one of his more underrated novels, imo. Barely anyone has heard of it.

🤷

If it was about Mars, written pre 1990, I read it.

Ben bova, kim stanley robinson etc

Elons biography was really good. I listened to it on a roadtrip.

My other recent recommendations:

-The Mandibles

-Travels (Michael Chrichtons autobiography)

-What we knew - Oral history Ww2 and it is amazingly similar to the last 4 years. **Must read

If you want macro stuff, id recommend pods instead since books are so, “snapshot in time” and most economic books are not great.

Im an outside the box kinda guy though.
