I hope with all my being that you find deep friendship and love in your life. I have only my nuclear family for similar reasons as yours, I have been in a similar place. Keep believing, in the meantime, know that there is a supportive community here, and people, myself included who enjoy your presence and opinions here. Hang in there!
Absolutely understandable. Just my opinion, but I think most Scandinavian cultures are too risk adverse to make that trade. Safety in stubborn stoicism is predictable, but often unfulfilling. As a flamboyant Scottish heritage guy married to a Norwegian, I have some perspective, but certainly not all, or even any real answers. 😊
