The Australian government is finally making moves to secure the release of Julian Assange. Unlikely to make much difference, but a positive step.

Good to see them finally pretending to give a fuck in the theatre

I fear that's all it is, but at least they've officially stated their position and are speaking directly to the US about it.

Who knows what they’re really doing. They’re professional multi-faced bullshit artists. But it being talked about more in normie land is good for awarenesss i guess

This started as a private member's Bill by Independent Andrew Wilkie, and weakling Albanese didn't dare vote against it.

Dutton did, but that fascist would jail his own children if they exposed his masters' crimes.

Liberal Bridget Archer crossed the floor to support the Bill, she's a good one.

Positive, people! The mushy centre jumped the right way for once.

I'm surprised it occurred at all, Labor must see the public opinion behind getting him out.

Finally. Took them only a decade or so...

Way too long, obviously they now see the political gains from looking as though they care.

And their arguments are still more about the lenght of the punishment and not about the absurdity of the imprisonment and the whole case.
