Bitcoin fixes a lot of things, but the idea that Bitcoin hashpower can somehow be an effective replacement for the utility of physical violence is patently absurd.

A free people must possess the means to do violence. A free nation must possess a strong military deterrent.

The deterrent must be comparable to the value of the resources they possess. The greater the value of the resources, the greater the incentive to seize control of the resources, therefore the greater the capacity to do violence in defense of those resources must be. This is true both on an individual level and on a national level.

There are people who will do violence against you to take what you have, and if you do not possess the means to resist with violence, you will become a victim. Pretending this is not true is childish and ignores nature.

I got it, it's human nature to protect yourself and what is yours. You need to have the means nessesary to fend off attackers and what not otherwise you will be enslaved slaughtered or stolen from.

Just hate that therm "utility on violence" it fucks with me. Just because you can be violent does not mean you should. Violence is and should only be nessesary as a defense. To inflict violence upon another for your your entertainment or to derive your power, is weakness.
