This is cool. Encode text data into audio. 170 characters, 2800 bps. You could send lightning invoices over ham radio! This is the app on my phone reading the audio from the YouTube video.

so cool

It's like an audio QR code. It is also resilient, surviving low quality radio, and YouTube compression. You could sneak messages in any audio or video recording 🤔

i love it

omg this is like cassette-net!!

interesting………..but why?

The app is made for use in emergency situations. You can send text data over CB, FRS, ham radio. The ability to send data when services are down and It requires no special equipment. I think the end goal is devices with this built in, for handheld long range text comms.

very interesting. i just have to find somebody who is equally prepared just in case, which is almost impossible. nobody is prepared where I am.

Oh this is cool. This will be useful for an altnet post I was looking into making. Thanks for sharing

It would be a particular kind of awesome to hear the old dial-up modem sounds but it's sendong a #bitcoin (or lightning!) transaction...
