Just came back from a quick trip to the mall.

I finally got a good look at the sheer economic destruction that a few years of reckless economic policies have inflicted.

It’s eerie.

Malls were killed by online shopping, not economic policies.

While what you’re saying is true, it’s also true that policies implemented during the pandemic were the kiss of death for many malls

I remember REITs like Simon Property Group, which owns many malls, suffering greatly. The pandemic and our reaction accelerated the process of converting malls into Amazon Processing warehouses.

That Macy’s closed before the pandemic, but many other ancor tenants did not. And now they’re closed, which makes it incredibly hard for small, satellite stores, like those in my pictures, to survive.

Last thing, health policies during the pandemic were economic policies too, whether we realize it or not.

Anyone else kinda thought that barbershop was named “Fauci”?

Side hustle, maybe? 😂😂
