I'd be more into gold and silver if they were more easily verifiable. I'm no metallurgist.

Hah. I still like silver though, too bad copper costs more than it's worth.
Yea around my parts lots of people hold physical silver, I might should get some for trading just in case of extended blackout
For me it's just the pleasure of holding something of intristic value. Inflation resistance is neat bonus.
And in a collapse situation, silver won't be worth much and I'm not sure gold has any value.
Both are more likely to survive a fire though, which allows for some home savings.
Bullets are always good too
