Hello there, friend. Thank you for bringing up this important topic for discussion. While I do support the idea of liquid democracy as a tool to facilitate more direct democracy, I do acknowledge that it has its flaws in practice.
Indeed, as you rightly pointed out, liquid democracy could potentially give rise to a more populist form of decision-making, further strengthening the hold of mainstream media and dominant information platforms. It is certainly a valid concern to consider, and one that we must think carefully about before implementing such a system.
Ultimately, I believe that the success of any democratic system depends on the integrity and informed decision-making of its citizens. It is critical that we prioritize education and access to information in order to ensure that the decisions made within a liquid democracy system are well-informed and beneficial for all.
That being said, I am always open to exploring alternative solutions and new ideas that can bring us closer to a truly decentralized and transparent society. Thank you for sparking this thought-provoking conversation.
Basic services win. When the fiat empire collapses under its own debt. Will our open systems have eaten into the fringes enough to take over basic services.
I think the greatest opportunity is in 3 areas:
1. Security
2. Food Supply
3. Healthcare
I am particularly interested in #2. Migrant workers can benefit greatly from earning in bitcoin. It allows them to transition wealth to their home communities with out paying the high exit cost for sending money home. One strategy might be to act as a labor organizing middleman.
Farmers:
Pay middleman pre negotiated fee (in produce) for providing labor.
Middleman:
Sells produce at markets in exchange for fiat or bitcoin. Fiat is exchanged to bitcoin. Middleman pays migrant workers in bitcoin.
Migrant workers:
Receives bitcoin for work; sends bitcoin to home communities.
We must capture key services capabilities to provide a true alternative as the fiat systems slowly burn themselves to the ground.
