Nostr Web Client

I'm currently building my next educational #Bitcoin project and realized we lack simple tools that aggregate relevant information. For example, a website listing ALL global Bitcoin conferences, bitcoin only exchanges, and meetups etc. Do these resources exist, and if so, could you please share the links 🙏

If not, perhaps we should address this as a community. Instead of creating multiple incomplete directories, what if we stored this data on Nostr? Each meetup etc. could be stored with relevant information as a specific event type, and anyone could build then an UI on top do display this data or use the data as needed. What are your thoughts?

The problem with storing it on Nostr, there is no “Nostr”, in terms of a centralized database. Although, if all of the client devs got together, I am sure they could create such a database that would be linked in their individual clients. I have no doubt users would have no problem chipping in to keep said database online.

The problem as I see it, the developers all have their own interpretation of what Nostr should be, so we have projects going in every which direction with no clear road map. Don’t even get me started on onboarding..

To be fair, all of the web3 protocols seem to be doing the same thing and I don’t quite understand why.

I feel like both platforms could benefit from the other and yet protocols like Farcaster, solana, lens, want nothing to do with Nostr and vice versa.

It feels like I am back in high school, dealing with clicks, Nostr are the nerds and web3 protocols are the jocks.😅

But it would really be great to have all the data in #nostr, so all frontends on top could share a common "database" and be complementary to each other instead of competing. Maybe I'll work on it once I've finished this project. Because it would be really extremely useful for the educational project too.
