Any way to not leak your IP address besides using a VPN? Seems like a potentially shitty trade off to using nostr?

a nip would be nice

You leak your IP address on every single service you use. This isn't Nostr specific.

Just to twitter and your ISP tho on twitter right? Is this to anyone running a relay?

You could also use a service like nostrgram .co and only send your IP to them if it makes you feel better.. (like Twitter). Or nostr.wine, which provides caches of other relays for it's users.. big tech uses your IP address for questionable things like advertising that your fiance is going to divorce you cause it saw her search history from the same IP for example, and yet, you're still thinking it's 'better' to let Twitter know your IP?

Yes, this would be to the client and relays operators that you're connect to.

That’s literally how the Inter works.

run your own relay and only connect to it?

Lol I guess it’s possible on Umbrel now, would need to test user experience on only one relay. My experience gets better as I add more

idk if it really really works but you could decide to only go on iris.to with Brave Tor browser (and allow extensions to be used in private mode in settings)

(extensions wrt using nosx2 and alby)

This is how the internet works today. All servers are aware of client IPs and visa versa. VPNs add misdirection and a degree of privacy.
