To be fair I think legally he need to KYC otherwise donations could be coming from Russia, China etc. I was surprised he put up that QR code at the conf. Anyone around the world could have (and I assume still can) send him btc to that address and he would be in violation of what I understand is US law against accepting political donations from foreigners.

So instead he should accept anonymous Lightning payments and open himself up to ongoing FEC violations during the 2024 election? He’s trying to be elected president.

The proof is in the doing, but there was a lot to like in his Bitcoin Conference speech.
