So they're forcing people to self host? I feel like this will have the opposite effect they're looking for. I think we can expect a surge of tor nodes to come online.

Yes and I've noticed this too. Atm it seems like everything the EU does, from the CBDC plans to targeting payment processors all the way to new laws, it all seems to benefit us while they're shooting themselves in the leg. Pretty interesting to watch.

I hope that's the case, but I would be surprised if many normal folks will figure out how to run their own nodes and deal with their own funds. It's still hard and scary and people are busy and lazy (in the nicest possible way).
