Though you are correct, have you been to el Salvador and spoken to people there? It's interesting to consider how he has over 90% approval ratings. As far as I know no other leader can boast that.
I can say from my own experience that the people approve of what he has done and support him.
As long as a government is accountable to its people and does what the people want the government to do its really hard for outside observers like us to judge.
Only time will tell if he end up a tyrant or a liberator - and the only people who can make that determination are the citizens of that country
