I have seen disappointing and downright evil on Nostr. What's cool is that I'm able to isolate it and ignore it. Of course it's out there, human nature runs the full spectrum. But I don't control others, and I don't want anyone to have control over what I see on my feed. No algorithms pulling things back and out of my sight, and no ads pushing things forward that I don't want to see. That's the dream. And that's the reality on Nostr. I really hope that doesn't change.
It's not a meme. It truly is about the relationships that we build along the way. Nostr is about humans being human and we're able to do just that thanks to brilliant minds such as nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s and countless other Nostr developers. Oh wow. I haven't seen anything like that. I guess my feed is pretty well curated.
It would be nice if from the client or from relay settings you could isolate hashtags or users you don’t want to see pulled back. Or configure a filter for “family-safe” that you define and like dark mode or light mode you could filter that stuff out for most of the time unless you find some specific post is being blocked you are looking for. I hear we need to stand up a relay or such to do this. But why can’t I do it on the client? Or on the relay settings when I add a relay?
