You’re only missing one point in my estimation and that’s for western people there is no significant cultural history of tattooing. Meaning not only do tattoos have all the negative health effects you listed but they’re also often merely a crass consumeristic fad. Likely a blip in western culture that will recede and be looked upon with wide derision and mockery at some point in the future.

I have no tattoos and never will but I don’t think there is ‘no western cultural history’? I instinctively assumed they were kinda pagan, Celtic etc, and probably lost with Christianity? Sailors and soldiers have always had them
