Perhaps the most used and most dangerous of the Fallacies/Biases. It's used against us everywhere...in scams, politics, marketing, schooling, public relations and propaganda. And it works!!!

Authority bias refers to the tendency to give greater value to the opinion or recommendation of an authority figure, regardless of the actual validity or accuracy of the content (remember all of the Covid "experts"?). This cognitive bias leads individuals to accept and prioritize information endorsed by someone perceived as an authority, often without critically evaluating its merits. In the extreme it can lead to blind obedience.

Should executioners be tried and sentenced for carrying out a legal sentence, if in the future the whole of society decides that execution is immoral, and the executioner should have known to disobey orders and not carry out the sentence? Makes you 🤔
