Easy. Backward. You'll end up with stronger calves/glutes/arches and flexibility throughout your trunk from twisting.
If you have to jump on one leg you'll be left with imbalanced musculature creating all sorts of skeletal issues.
Backwards for sure
I met a one legged guy once who actually did hop around without crutches or anything. He was a bit out of touch with reality as well though.
