A couple of years ago, I got passionate about #bitcoin and collecting #vinyl records at the same time.

Something about true ownership and a degree of scarcity.

I love discovering versions of music from decades ago that was never converted to CD and therefore never included into streaming services.

One of my favorite records is a Led Zeppelin pressing that some people hate because the drums are “too hot” but I think it sounds insanely good. That’s not the version you hear on the streaming services.

Anyway, caring a lot about music leads to vinyl. Caring about scarcity leads to Bitcoin.

Does anyone else here on #nostr love listening to vinyl records?

This Coltrane album is a beauty.

nice parallel

I have a small vinyl collection. For me its less about the sound and more about the ritual/experience. I have months of mp3/FLAC rips which are convenient, but vinyl seems to require you to be an active listener. You can't run off and leave it going, its a pain to skip songs, you need to take care of your music, etc. It forces you to stop and pay attention which I like.
