Is Amethyst that slow for you too? I don't mean the connection speed, but rather the app itself. My phone is a bit older, and Amethyst is much too slow on it. Would it help if I reduced the number of relays? Or would that be too counterproductive overall?

Yes, I also have this problem after update.
I now know why Amethyst is so slow for me. It's simply that my smartphone is too bad. The smartphone has too little RAM memory. Amethyst needs at least 1 GB of FREE RAM memory to run smoothly. My smartphone has a total of only 2 GB RAM memory and only 500 MB of it are free usually. This is unfortunately not enough.
But I can still use Amethyst. It just doesn't work with Orbot (Tor proxy).

Really? That's strange. Do you have the latest version installed? Amethyst has been updated very often, and bugs are fixed quickly. So since I did the last update, Amethyst suddenly works much better for me, and with only 500 megabytes of free RAM. Has not crashed for a long time.
