I would be very interested in seeing this supported on Amethyst and Damus at some point, since it’s free and on device (no cloud servers involved).

So this is already used for Amethyst translation? We should make that more obvious. Some privacy concerned users in the Amethyst chat channel were concerned it was sending their posts and DMs to a server.

It's local. The all downloads the translation model once and uses it to translate all posts locally.
