It happens in waves. Weâre just between right now.
For most, nostr hasnât solved anything new that wasnât already solved by other solutions.
Just as bitcoin takes a while to understand, so does nostr.
The people that will see the benefits first will be ones who are treated most unfairly.
No ads, no algorithms should be a pretty nice hook even for normies no?
Do normies know algorithms are bad though? Assume most people think âtrendingâ etc is pretty cool
Itâs probably not clear why no algo is good. And no ads is not a strong enough selling point when it comes to losing everything youâve already built up
I still think Twitter is great for things that are happening live: news and sports.
This is quite a niche community on here right now, which is expected, and conversation discovery isnât greatâso donât think it offers a better experience, just a different one right now.

Need more public instances of problems with other platforms and each time more will come to nostr
It's not mentioned on podcasts very often. That's how I found #nostr.

Onboarding is a PITA right now.
I've got a few to start exploring nostr but it requires me to walk through a painstaking step by step process.
Get a nostr client installed and profile made.
Explain about private and public keys and how to safe guard them.
Get a lightning wallet installed.
Explain about custodial vs non custodial.
Attach wallet to client.
Give them sats to play with.
Show them how to buy sats with apps like Strike.
Explain KYC.
Get them to install a non custodial wallet.
Explain the difference between Bitcoin proper and lightning.
Explain all about not your keys, not your Bitcoin.
Explain about if you lose your keys you lose your Bitcoin.
Fortunately it's a lot easier to get into this ecosystem than it was years ago, bit it's still a process
Some (most) people do not have the patience for it.
It's just a matter of time.
Be patient and educate slowly, they will come.
