Hard money shouldn’t be softly secured

I think I understand Bitcoin enough to like it, I obviously need more.

What I still don't get is how proper Lightning is ok. running a node were you trust at least one other person to run a node with. Getting incoming liquidity costs. I am having trouble seeing Lightning as a good solution.
