Depends on how you live, luxury standards, all that. Changes a bit if you’re right in Uvita, Dominical, or further out into the mountains surrounding.

With rent, gas, food, events I think a fair average is ~$1.5-2kUSD/month.

Of course, you can shrink that a bit, but you can also increase it massively with luxury rentals, food, lots of restaurants visits.

It’s heavenly though and IMO the cost is worth it. Brilliant sunsets, lush natural jungle, amazing people (expats and locals), great projects happening.

Seems like I don’t need a visa and can stay there for 90 days.

Some passports can stay for180 days now! And border runs are extremely common (literally organized groups that go together). Just hop out hop back in and get another 3 months.

How hard is it to earn 1-2kusd after taxes there? I know it all depends, but is it impossible outside of owning a business?
