Most people find it high. Depends where you are and lifestyle. Import taxes are high so many goods are expensive. If on the coast, it’s much higher than inland. As an example, there are government recommended price ranges for many things. My mechanic showed me the one for car repair things. At the bottom there’s a little * that says “if you are located in a coastal area, it is reasonable to increase the price up 20%.

It’s all relative though. Best thing to do is jump on a plane and come see for yourself!

Depends on how you live, luxury standards, all that. Changes a bit if you’re right in Uvita, Dominical, or further out into the mountains surrounding.

With rent, gas, food, events I think a fair average is ~$1.5-2kUSD/month.

Of course, you can shrink that a bit, but you can also increase it massively with luxury rentals, food, lots of restaurants visits.
