Grant it I got a small home but I have enjoyed having window units more than. Central. I can run each room at what I want.

I can run 3 window units (thinking of getting a 4th to help the big living room one keep up when cooking) and my electric bill is $100 or more cheaper than running the central. That is even with the window units running 2-3 times longer.

1985 3.5 ton trane at minimum sucks probably 4200watts. All 3 units running in tandem suck about 2000 a fourth 5k-6k unit for the kitchen would put me at 2400-2500 watts.

Some people don't like them cause "trashy" but dayum is staying cool for cheap nice.

Also window units may not suit your needs either idk.

My current unit (5 ton) uses about 24k at start. Don’t remember much else. Can’t run it off any of my generators in an emergency.

I thought about window units but, not feasible location wise with where they have to go.
