Chilli sauce is a general term for a lot of different kinds of sauces. What did you want to use it in? Even if you narrow it down to a particular usage (e.g. enchilada sauce) there are two variants of that (Tex-Mex vs California)

California enchalada sauce is all I can help with. No tomatoes. Mostly red chilli powder and vinegar and salt Lots of different red chili powders (ancho, chilpolte, de arbol, guijillo, pasilla). Cumin, garlic, mexicna oregano, mexican chocolate, cinnamon, vinegar and salt. Just try combinations and make it taste good. Some people use tomato (that's Tex Mex) or a roux to make it "go further"

Never heard of California Sauce. I just thought they put a bunch of avocado on Sonoran Mexican food and call it Californian.

Ah sorry, great point! And thanks for the tips

Was thinking like a straight chilli habernero kinda sauce. Hot af. Something i could marinate with but also could be used to add to existing food like tacos or wings. Not sure if thats gonna nail it down enough or not.

This is one am currently enjoying. Wouldnt mind making my own
