When I make a batch out of something other than pallets I want to try that

As long as they are raw wood, just get out the nails before or after, will work.

Nope, in the past I used a shovel to manually crush. Probably took 2 hours for a 5 gallon bucket. This did in 20 minutes.

That looks like it works great. I would possibly make some sort of hopper/funnel that attaches to the feed tube. It would be nice to shovel more in at a time.

Agreed, that is the only downside. But cuts down my shovel and bucket processing from 2 hours to 15 minutes.
