Man, when they all start going wild and everyone is jamming those bows real hard...

I think classical music players are metal heads and they don't even know it. Sometimes when I'm at a metal concert I think "is this intense, primal feeling I'm experiencing right now identical to the one people were having in the 1700s sitting in classical music halls?" and it blows my mind.

I imagine their access to high-intensity experiences and sort of cathartic group activities was severely restricted compared to today.

You can hear amplified music whenever you want, cranked as loud as you want. Go to a packed football stadium or rave or drive a fast car.

These dudes were slowly strolling around in powered wigs and apparently everything was sepia colored and silent. Aside from signing up for a naval battle, the most intense experience you could get was going to a concert hall and having a stage full of strings blasted at your face.

I guarantee you those Victorians were moshing. At least in spirit.

But youtube has shit audio quality. Headphones can only do so much here.

True, but now I'm listening to the entire Four Seasons on another, better quality platform.

I've heard pieces of this before here and there, but never listened to the whole thing.
