I like reddit because the focus is more on content than on personalities. It's normal to read a post and an entire series of comments and not even look at the names of the people posting.

Interesting, I have had my share of funny moments reading reddit but never felt compelled to post, either because I felt my opinions wouldn’t add to the conversation, but mostly because I compared it more with slashdot than twitter.
Here I’m much less intimidated about exchanging with others, people are genuine, collaborative and respectful.
As to your point of “content vs personalities”, I agree, but I also find this to be true here. I never interacted with cats, frogs, and whatnot before joining #nostr :)
The sense of community we have here is great but not something we can expect to last if someday nostr reached mass adoption. Ultimately though, in a client like Amethyst that I'm using now, something shows up on my feed because someone I follow posted it. In contrast to reddit where it matches a given topic/community I follow and has gained recent upvotes. It would probably be not too hard to have a nostr client that creates a similar experience.
