Excellent. This week is my return to the training after a month away. I hope you can keep the momentum.
Everything is fine, thank you. Also hope you are doing well.
thank you, i hope you also had a warm welcome upon returning. I just zapped a number of people in appreciation ;)
Took an unplanned 4 week’s hiatus from this community to find the energy necessary to collaborate and share again.
Funny how spending time away from something can make you value it even more.
Hope everyone is doing great.
Long live #nostr
Long run done. #runstr #ProofOfWork
YES! I love the Barkleys. And I'm from the southeast so I personally know the pain of bushwacking in those hills.
Here it's higher elevation and much more open so it's easier.
The run I have in mind for later this summer is ~35km with a few thousand meters of elevation (mostly loss on this section).
It's the second half of a loop that rings the ridges of a valley here. I don't know if I'll ever be fit enough to do it in one go... 80km and ~8000m of gain/loss in total.
nostr:npub1kuy0wwf0tzzqvgfv8zpw0vaupkds3430jhapwrgfjyn7ecnhpe0qj9kdj8 any interest?
80km with 8k of altitude change is insane. I’m too amateur on running to even grasp the preparation and level of commitment required to do such thing.
Still, somehow I managed to go from sedentary to sub 4-hour marathon after my forties, so who knows ;)
Let us know when you try those mountaineering long runs.
that’s the line of thought that may lead someone into this https://youtu.be/NDZdsqbcGTU
It does. Nostr has not only shifted my concept of data ownership when it comes to social media but also broke the hamster wheel of chasing social capital.
Joined Threads to check them out and it’s an avalanche of famous people on the timeline, then immediately open Damus and find real conversation going on. It feels like a parallel world.
Have a great one, Seth.
I’ve been using ChatGPT to help with some bitwise operations lately and that scene is hilarious and depressingly true. nostr:note1vk48zlf2444aapd792wm2mth53dx3uy3wwlm4wzxeval9rc8pessph5kt6
Never raced on a mountain before, but trail run are definitely on my bucket list after my marathon goals are checked out.
Good luck with your training Jeff. Looking forward to your next notes.
Nice pace Jeff. Are u training for a specific race or just having fun?
Really nice, I would have gotten mine by now if not for the 100% duty taxes in my country :(
Nonetheless I’m following nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct closely and to me they are the “apple” of home data — the good product design Apple, not the one trying to withhold Damus progress :)
Seems to be a lovely place — that in which we can be ourselves. And hopefully we get to enjoy it surrounded by people we love and respect.
I’m still zapping people, but the idea of zapping a single post was so fun and intuitive that it’s hard to believe it won’t come back in the future.
I never surfed in my life, yet I find myself drawn into the words of Dave Rastovich and his way of thinking. If you are unfamiliar I suggest you watch Fish People https://youtu.be/Vejz78dhfZk
Here’s his latest thoughts on diversity https://www.patagonia.com.au/blogs/roaring-journals/finding-the-fall-line-one-autumn-morning-a-century-of-surfboards
#[0] only now I realize I missed part of your comment so I just zapped 21000 zaps to #[1] as well :)
I better get back to running 🤣
