Fun fact, the experience joining #nostr was so good and warm that as a result I now interact more elsewhere. Thanks #plebchain

As pledged, I just zapped 21k sats. Thanks for playing 🤣 nostr:note10pxfmc7csg84h3s2xg7a397quc3helmc5pp9ux67xe4wwhwvn6wqchhtc2

Exciting. Good luck šŸ€. Hope you can still find time for some reps as well.

#pebchain What client are you using to access #nostr on the web? Are you using a browser extension to login and/or connect to your lightning wallet?

And to the experts around, is there a list of recommended relays? Does it makes sense to compare/classify relays?

Interesting, I have had my share of funny moments reading reddit but never felt compelled to post, either because I felt my opinions wouldn’t add to the conversation, but mostly because I compared it more with slashdot than twitter.

Here I’m much less intimidated about exchanging with others, people are genuine, collaborative and respectful.

As to your point of ā€œcontent vs personalitiesā€, I agree, but I also find this to be true here. I never interacted with cats, frogs, and whatnot before joining #nostr :)

This ā€œpublicly post your intentions to help them happenā€ thing reminded of a site called GoFuckingDoIt in which you pledge an amount based on a goal, and if you do not succeed they keep the money.

Perhaps we could reinvent it in the form of zaps. Pledge some #zaps towards a short term goal you have and if you don’t show a proof of work, them funds goes somewhere (charity, open source software, someone you admire, etc)

GM #nostr. How’s life treating you?

Skipped my saturday long run to do some devops work. Wish me luck :) Hopefully I can get the environment up and running today and those 21km done tomorrow morning.

Precisely. Just don’t be discouraged if many people tries to gamefy nostr and succeed, because that will most likely happen.

What I think it’s different is that here that shouldn’t have a negative impact on others and specially on the communities and conversations such as this.

Being yourself is not rewarded, and for the most part, that is what people sick online nowadays.

But let’s make no mistake, thats our nature in the sense that if certain kinds of posts attracts more zaps, it will be a matter of time until others start mimicking.

Luckily #nostr doesn’t come with recommendation algo built it, and even if it eventually implements boosting to support users discoverability, it hopefully will not be built upon these economic metrics.

Very well put. Yet another reason I like here: we talk to other people, not an audience, thus our quest is to be genuine rather than a plasticized persona.

Thanks. Everyday discovering something new.

I remember being mesmerized when I saw how Rachmaninoff created one of Paganini’s variations (sorry, I could not find the complete episode: https://youtu.be/NAaPXTXOuDE )

Similar to my own experience on #nostr. Was brought in light of the #damus vs šŸŽ case and continue to linger because of the camaraderie and strong sense of community. nostr:note19j5s4ku83r6kdajk2rc4g4ezynsd420v8rvmakuleurses6luq7q7srr58

That’s one of the reasons I encourage my daughter to explore her curiosity, sometimes the gifts we receive by giving a chance to something new can change our lives.

Case in point, this community, little my little, these small doses of camaraderie makes a difference on people’s day.

I wonder if we got along with the idea subconsciously hoping for something like this to happen.

As a child I was bitten and only lost fear after our dog entered our lives.

This did happen to me. It was a golden retriever that lived 10 happy years amongst us.

I must confess, it took some time to get used to the house destruction tho. nostr:note1ctfj6384geup8n4rj5kyu64qvcpk5ugwfrh9ghr6y9a0q68t7dhsyvdepy
