Great idea… an app to connect to and geolocate your users who are bitcoiners. No privacy concerns there 😬

yikes good point

Correct, the “OPA is a paywalled honeypot” theory has a heckuva lot going for it

You can be as anonymous as you like on OPA. We also understand that not everybody is interested in meeting other bitcoiners IRL

I love meeting other bitcoiners IRL. Just not through a paywalled, closed-sourced, geolocating, centralized app. 🤷‍♂️

oh you must be one of these Decentralized People 😂

So Pablo, wen Nostr version of the OPA 😂

When did #[6] get a cameo on South Park?

😂

It would be interesting to see if something like OPA is possible on nostr. Is anybody working on it?

Don't provoke #[7] 😂

i've never used it, what does it do?

Yes, this ☝️

Goodness. No one thought this was a bad idea? 🤦‍♂️

Since we don’t deliver pizza we use approximate geolocation which means you can be anywhere in a 10 miles radius.

Here’s a thought experiment to understand how meaningless even precise geolocation would be: if I told you the exact distance between you and me, how would you find me?

But how does a user know exactly what data you collect?

We don’t do ads, why would we collect any data beyond the core features of the app which will only increase our costs?

🤔 there’s lots of ways to monetize a user base beyond serving ads.

But that wasn’t the question.

If you’re asking if OPA is open source, the answer is no.

If we were monetizing our users data we wouldn’t have a paywall; which greatly reduce the amount of data.
