The other key point of course is the fees are never the right value - they're either too low to meet the security budget, or too high to use the network. It's almost like they're Schrodinger's Fees - simultaneously too high and too low.
Shots fired
Yeah, have no-coiners ever sent a bank wire to buy a house?
It's much more expensive than bitcoin transacrions in a high fee environment.
it will cost more than $50 per Bitcoin transaction on the main chain in the future.
Yes. But layer 2 / 3 still probably work globally.
Will it? It costs less than $2 right now.
yes
It's $1.80 right now π
it was 2 cents in 2019
at current fee pressure if the price of Bitcoin is 200k USD fees would currently be above 20 bucks per tx
fee pressure will be higher at that price too.
It was $0 in 2009. If you are worried about high costs of bitcoin transactions sell your btc & go with a shitcoin that does it cheaper & stop moaning. π
I'm not moaning about anything, you are
I never said anything about wanting to change Bitcoin. I'm prepared for tx fees that greatly exceed $50 in the future, I won't be surprised like you will be.
Got the bank transfer situation solved? Hope so. They make sending money to family overseas very tidious and frustrating. Yea we dont need bitcoin at all our fiat banking works great worldwide!
Yeah did one bank transaction to China once... I took forever and costs similiar π No joke, #Bitcoin is superior for doing international payments.
I feel your pain! Last year I paid Β£25.80 to move from GBP to USD so I orange pilled the person for the second payment :)
Also the banks usually give you a crappy exchange rate and with Bitcoin you clearly see the fee up front when you are sending it. Its better on so many levels.
also you forgot to mention TX confirmation time: 3-5 business days
Itβs 60 USD in πΉπΏ
why r u using international wire tp begin with?
