Been about two weeks to download 84500 blocks of the blockchain, index, and synch fulcrum over tor behind a vpn. Will probably be another week before fully up to date.

Get your full nodes in order. All these 1TB nodes will need to be updated.

Everyone should be enjoying the sweet freedom of verifying their holdings against their node.

Almost at 80% synchronization for my first node! I set it up on a spare laptop yesterday via Starlink and I’m hoping to be fully synced sometime tomorrow 🥳

sigh ...I've been procrastinating this for too long

Which is a better VPN, in your opinion?

Mullvad

Mullvad and iVPN are great. obscura is an intriguing emerging option but needs much more time to prove out.

your own njalla vps 😉

Made an IBD this week. Took 2 days. It was a NUC and I set dbcache=30000 in bitcoind.conf(30GB), but the NUC had 64GB total. Moreover I used assumed UTXO and loaded the UTXO snapshot. But the snapshot validation has finished after 2 days.

What I want to say: RAM is the limiting factor.

Yeah, mine node is a rockpro64

Also this I am referencing that this is including the electr synch as well

Clear net would be faster, I am over tor behind a vpn

Why tor + vpn? it's discouraged by TTP

hdd vs ssd will limit more than RAM jfyi

Never tried with hdd. Even with SSD the differences can be huge.

Would be interesting to see if nvmes still make a difference.

spoiler: they do 🤪

Electrum is normally a good indexer if you don't have a super deep wallet. It saves space
