It's interesting that you don't distinguish between shitcoins & altcoins. There is a huge difference, much like there is a difference between a claw hammer and a sledge hammer.

And never forget that bitcoin's market dominance exists primarily for one reason: 1st to market / name recognition, which brought on it's network effect. There is nothing about it's technical fundamentals that put it in the lead. As a matter of fact, it's lack of basic usability is the reason it has so many competitors.
