I prefer smaller online communities since I don’t believe I’m built to casually absorb every past, present, and future horror the world has to offer during my free time.

I’m not saying that I want to live in a secluded bubble but I like to focus on a few horrors of the world at a time when I have the bandwidth. Not all of the horrors of the world plus psyops all mushed into one.

It can be very exhausting to keep up with everything at once. Sometimes I appreciate the bubble like structure away from much of what's in the world narrative

Small and intimate is best.

You can actually breathe and enjoy being online.

If it's not fun and you're doom scrolling most of the time because that's how the algorithm makes more money for the profit driven social media company.

Absorbing everything is not good for one’s soul…

If we do try to, it is a way that we are trying to control the ultimate outcome.

In so doing, we don’t let the Good Lord to take control in our lives.

Agree. It's overwhelming at times. What I did with X was narrow down to about 10 people who were each knowledgeable about one topic and let them keep me up to date rather than news feed.
