Seems like there should be invites to any event type, games, etc.

Calendar event invites are just p tags on the calendar event kind. You could add p tags to other event kinds for those other use cases. The response (RSVP) to those invites are different, though. Although it’s technically flexible to be a response to any kind of invite, I don’t know if it makes sense to conflate it into one for the different use cases. Might get messy.

🙏 Copy that. I was looking for something more general. Like an invite for an event that may or may not have a date or time associated with it. Or maybe even an invite to view content or review/comment on something.

Invitees could respond with yes/no/maybe and pass along a comment (which could be optional or required).

Clients could filter for invites or render them differently than normal notes.

If anyone else thinks this is useful, I may try my hand at writing a nip for this.

Could NIP-53 Live Activities be what you’re looking for?

I have been looking at nip-53 and it may be general enough for what I need. I’m looking to invite a list of players to a game (which may not have a specific time/date). Invitees can agree to play and would have to provide information (I.e. a character sheet) to the host.

Nip-53 seems to fit most of this. nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z

NIP-53 doesn't have direct invites though. I am very confused about what the invites are doing. Is this like join me now if you can, kind of invite? What happens if they reply yes?
