I'm thinking about it. Last year was the first year I didn't have any w2 income. My client will likely give me a 1099 or something. I could prep everything and just not file. And just file and pay the fines if they really come after me.

But I'd be surprised if lots of people aren't looking at how taxes are actually being and seriously considering holding off on filing taxes.

If your expenses exceed what you earned on the reported 1099s filed, you're operating at a loss, and do not owe. Of course, this is not financial¸ legal, or medical advice.
