People really underrate how smart dogs are. On the topic of when an AI becomes sentient people will always reference "well dogs aren't sentient/sapient" or some other garbage.

I went to wake my dogs up yesterday to go out for a walk and my boy dog didn't want to get out of bed, I told him "don't make me get up" and he cocked his head at me, I shifted my weight to stand up and he jumped up and ran over. That little bastard knows exactly how to push my buttons and what he can get away with, not sapient my ass.
