Amethyst consumes a huge amount of my internet data. For example, Amethyst consumes about ten times more data than Twitter. I have noticed that when I open a user's profile in Amethyst, Amethyst immediately loads the list of all the user's followers and follows, and also loads a large number of user's notes, and this consumes a lot of data. I think it's better when I open a user's profile the list of folloers and fllows do not load until I've opened the followers or follows tab, and only the last ten notes are loaded, and more notes are loaded by scrolling down the page. In this way, internet usage is saved.

nostur low data mode fixes this

I was about to suggest to use the "Media over WiFi only", you know where it is?

But the preloading of profiles you mentioned might be a big part of the data.

I have not wifi or ADSL data service unfortunately. I only can use simcard data, and it's expensive.

Are you have fiber or 5G unlimited data ?

I think fiber or 5G unlimited data will help you

No unfortunately, I only have limited 4G data.

Ok , If you have Android you can find some apps for control data in your internet , Try allowing data only to Noster and close data from other applications. What will happen to you?

Your solutions are too simple, I have thought of them all before. The main solution to this problem is that the developers of Amethyst try to reduce its data consumption, for example Primal app for Android has a much lower data consumption.

In my home I use fiber and I don't find any problem with amethyst, I think you can use other clients for nostr like " snort " or " primal " or " plebstr " or " " nostrudelninja "

Try them which one is best for you

I use Coracle most of the time, but I'd use Amethyst if it had less data usage because I prefer native apps. Thanks for your tipsπŸ™
