I started reading and then saw it was coming from Deloitte and well, I stopped wasting my time.

Yep that is true, just wondered about reality of topic.

Fair question. Nothing wrong with keeping an eye on potential attack vectors. Just know that academics love to overstate theoretical outcomes.

There is no quantum computer threat in foreseeable future, not in out lifetimes for sure imo

Achieving widespread agreement among experts or the plebs on a specific timeframe for the emergence of a quantum threat to Bitcoin remains challenging. It's an evolving & intriguing area where varied viewpoints & uncertainty are prevalent…

IMO, it’s not a serious concern. Humanity may eventually invent this technology, but there would be signs, and we could take steps.

The first sign that anyone had a functional, ECDSA-reversing, quantum computer is movement of super old coins. Like Satoshi’s coins. These represent a huge bounty for would-be quantum pirates.

If we were concerned about this possibility, we could softfork in additional, quantum-resistant signature schemes and start to move coins to them.

‘Quantum pirates’ gives it a noble edge
