it may have been some influence on my beliefs reading the Qur'an because it repeatedly and right from the start emphasises that God the Father is The Most Merciful
during Judgement, all of the acts of evil are relived, and this is the punishment, but it's not a punishment, it's just the pay-back of what was taken, so there is no need for anything more
i think this model regards this process as "the second death" and i'm pretty sure that there is writings about this going a long way back
so i think that paying back the debt counts as reconciliation and after that point the prize earned by the stupid evil person is they don't get a heavenly body and don't get to come back
the hindus have this punitive system where they think you are reincarnated as a lower beast but i think that is extremely anthropocentric - i don't think that creatures that lack the ability to choose something other than what they were spawned with are evil, they are simply forces of nature and you don't call a storm evil, or a long needed rain good, except with context for the benefit or detriment of those who suffer or gain due to this change of weather
