I’ll be making a thanksgiving meal for the first time – from scratch. It’s only my second thanksgiving and I want to do it justice.

Any magic, secret tips to make it a grand success? 😊

Let me know if you’re looking for any specific recipes. Aim to keep the menu simple. Bake any desserts or pies the day before. Prep what you can Wednesday night. Friends making their first turkeys have screwed up in typically one of three ways: 1) not discarding the gizzards 2) buying a frozen turkey the day before and thinking it will defrost in time 3) not timing how long it will take to roast a bird of the size you got.

Wow! This is so helpful! Thank you, Mallory! I could have easily made the last mistake but now I know better.

I hope you have a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner! Any mishaps will make funny stories in years to come. 🫂💜

Thank you! 🫂🧡

And always roast the turkey breast-DOWN. I will die on this hill. Fight me.

Agreed! 🫡

Just make sure the gravy is good. Good gravy hides a lot of meh dishes. It happens.

If you do sweet potatoes. Put the crunchy nut cinnamon topping on it. No damn marshmallows

Copy that! 🫡

Marshmallows?! 🤯 I’ve never in my life had marshmallows on my sweet potatoes. 🍠 🤢

Missing out. Southern staple

Interesting!
