Sadly many will welcome it. When it's "free" and those who don't comply are locked out of services etc they'll cheer and when they introduce spending restrictions so those who are out of work can't buy cigarettes and alcohol they'll cheer louder. They'll be taught to hate the noncompliant, because if they don't hate us they might realise that they've been conned.
