Was no more than 2m from me. Eventually flew off. Scared the shit out of me when it opened its wings. Dont realise the scale when they're flying
I've never seen an eagle close up, it's hard to imagine something so big looking so graceful in the air. Nature is amazing.
Indeed. From the small to the large
Last Spring, i heard the chickens alerting, so i grabbed the shotgun and ran out the door. Stopped dead in my tracks, with eye contact with a big bald eagle 10 feet away. i just lowered the weapon and watched it fly away. its wing span was so wide it barely fit through the gap in the trees. Incredible creatures.
That's mind boggling! We have harris hawks year round and the swallow-tailed and Mississippi kites migrate through, occasionally a bald eagle makes it's way down. The kites are fun to watch flying, they kind of dance.
