It will be as simple as Bitkey but has a screen on the device. Open source and assembled in the USA.

Brilliant

Yeah

still a little early to be singing its praises

They delivered with the Passport.

I am offering a comparison to Square Bitkey workflow, production and no screen.

I'm excited too.

they legit have done everything right

I preordered two

I am a hardware junkie

White one for daily use

Black one for key manage/ wife comfort

i just got the one 😔

White or black

Proper supply chain integrity checking for parts being genuine is significantly more important than “assembled” in the USA.

Fair, I would believe that is part of the value prop of assembling in USA.

Not really.

Assembled can include or not include:

- soldering work of chips

- connecting components

- final assembly of enclosure

There are ways to have a very trust minimized supply chain. This is only possible with certain parts though and requires effort that most companies don’t want to go through

Well then we are both assuming what Foundation does in their process. I am sure nostr:nprofile1qqs2vrneurk665gq6a2rke572y7mc8ppwr5wnd60mw8fwxharc8xsycpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9uchqnm4 would be happy to share more.

Yeah. It could mean a lot of things. With newer chips, there is authenticity certificates and similar, that make it hard to counterfeit at scale.

Visual inspection also could be beneficial in case assembly of the PCB is outsourced.
