Going through my kids books and realising how many have woke themes. What books would you recommend for 5-8 year olds? #bookstr

Frog and Toad,

Um... Shit what were the other ones?

Anything Star Wars for younger kids

Barenstein Bears

Lots of others I know of but I can't think of them right now.

I remember enjoying Astrid Lindgren's books around that age.

Around age 10, I also got hooked on Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five and The Mystery series, which are about a bunch of kids solving mysteries.

Man, those were good times.

Yes! And the Faraway Tree stories 💜

Julia Donaldson books (The Gruffalo is my favourite)

Road Dahl books

Graeme Base books - These are beautifully illustrated and interactive (eg find x numbers of things) Animalia is my favourite.

The Hairy Maclary books by Lynley Dodd

💙📚

Mikey and the Dragons by Jocko Willink. Specifically for boys, it’s about one boy’s journey of conquering his fears and slaying dragons

Lord of the rings (if you read it to them)

Dr. Seuss

The Tuttle Twins (probably more for 8-9+)
