Anyone used Jitsi meet for encrypted calls (with or without video)? meet.jit.si

Anyone checked out the source code? jitsi.GitHub.imo

I’m looking for an encrypted service for calls that don’t require a phone number (like Signal).

Any recs, Jitsi or otherwise?

I’ve used Jitsi, I think it’s pretty legit!

Check out https://keet.io/

It's totally P2P so your convo isn't ever on any server

Thanks right yes have heard of them.. do you need to download anything, I assume yes? Reason I ask is part of this is to make it super easy for others who don’t want to download/learn anything (yet) and I can just send them a link.

Anyone try Threema? I’ve been tempted to set up their self hosted option for my family.

Heard of it, haven’t tried yet. Again pretty sure you need to download/set up etc and for this particular need of mine it’s gotta be ultra simple.

Love to hear tho if you get round to trying Threema how you like it 👍

Ha yeah it looked like a complicated docker deployment but I’m considering it for the future

I tried #jitsi and I like it. A really valid and complete alternative is #session (https://getsession.org).

Thanks for the feedback.. yes I’ve used Session but it requires a download like the other suggestions here.

For this particular purpose I need the easiest possible solution, where I can just send a link and no download is needed.

I understand. As far as I know, #jitsi is the only open solution, then.
