I remember there being a time when fb events were a must, pre fb marketplace that was a function people had to keep going back to.

I think a lot of it left to another meta product: insta posts about events, but also email, but I have wondered about Events & RSVPs, scrolling through attendees to see if anyone you liked was going. (Was actually sort of useless for that in a way cos people did polite 'attending'.)
